“Do not set aside your happiness. Do not wait to be happy in the future. The best time to be happy is always now.”
Roy T. Bennett
Welcome to MeaningfulLife Counselling. My name is Yevgeniya (aka Gen), and I am Accredited BACP online therapist. I bring a unique, multicultural perspective to my online therapy sessions, built on my diverse background and personal experiences.
About Me
With a mixed-race background, I began my professional journey as a textile artist and art teacher. My career then transitioned to working as an interpreter/translator for international companies. This role enabled me to travel extensively. I came to appreciate the diversity of our world. My own journey of reflection on life challenges and personal development led me to the field of counselling.
My drive to become a therapist comes not just from my own experience of therapy, but from navigating the world as a neurodivergent person. As a child, I felt overwhelmed, different, weird, rejected and not “good enough,” without fully understanding why. Starting my therapy was a turning point — I knew something needed to change.
Sitting with a therapist I learned to trust, who truly listened with empathy and compassion, was incredibly powerful. It gave me the space to question the beliefs I held about myself and to begin unpicking layers of shame and self-doubt. Over time, I realised I wasn’t “broken”—I was responding to a world that hadn’t always understood me.
Therapy helped me see that I am, in fact, OK as I am.
My Approach to Counselling
As a non-diagnosed neurodiverse therapist, I bring both professional training and lived experience into my work. I understand the journey of recognition, diagnosis, grief, and acceptance that can come with discovering your neurodivergence later in life. I also understand how complex it can feel to make sense of yourself in a world that often expects you to fit a mould.
In facing various life stages, relocation, and personal losses, I have understood the profound importance of talking therapy. The act of sharing and finding meaning in our existence is crucial. My experience enables me to support and empower others on their individual journeys. This support involves healing, personal development, managing life’s difficulties, or finding meaning in their circumstances.

Experience with Special Needs
Supporting children with special needs in schools offered me valuable insights into the challenges faced by parents and teachers. It emphasizes the necessity to recharge and regroup to avoid burnout.
Professional Training
As an Accredited Humanistic Existential counsellor, my initial training has been further enhanced by professional education in bereavement, ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, CBT, and trauma. This diverse training allows me to tailor my practice to suit each unique client.
Existential psychotherapy
- Existential psychotherapy places emphasis on the human condition as a whole. It uses a positive approach that celebrates human capacities and aspirations.
Therapy isn’t a quick fix—it takes time, patience, and courage. Taking that first step can feel difficult, especially if you’ve spent years putting yourself last. But creating space to understand yourself, in a way that honours how your mind works, can be truly life-changing.
People who maintain a healthy balance in this way are motivated to make decisions that can positively impact their lives, as well as the lives of their loved ones. Though these people may not know how their decisions will actually turn out, they do appreciate the need to take action while they can.
My therapy employs CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) tools and exercises to gently challenge negative thought processes that are impacting clients happiness and wellbeing.
I will work to create a safe, supportive space where clients will be able to explore themselves and their potential, ultimately working towards developing their own personal growth – mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
By leveraging my varied background and extensive expertise, I provide comprehensive online therapy and counselling services aimed at enhancing well-being and promoting personal growth.
I am a passionate learner and value the connection with other therapists through professional support groups. I love reading and constantly increase my professional knowledge attending courses and keeping up to date with all the latest information and implement accordingly.
My online practice includes regular clinical supervision, professional liability insurance and being a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), abiding by their ethical code of conduct.
